History: The original idea of Baan Nong Nguek weaving craftwork arrived when the ancestors of the Yong people moved and settled here. In the past. Cotton weaving was made for personal use within the family - purchasing clothes could be hard to obtain.
The men in those days was occupied with farming and learning how to grow cotton. Women would then take this cotton and weave using an ancient loom. This is the inheritance of wisdom from the past to the present.
At present, Baan Nong Nguek has been selected as one of the most prominent weaving communities in Lamphun province because of their handmade cotton fabric which has beautiful original designs, bringing in creative ideas in traditional patterns. Applied to the product to the era and the new generation. Makes Baan Nong Nguek weaving craftwork become one of the OTOP products of Pa Sang District, Lamphun Province. It is also a source of cotton for export in tourist cities throughout Northern Thailand.
